A new parental leave policy has been announced by Amazon. The Seattle-based company, in an email, told its employees about the new policy. The policy includes 20 weeks of paid parental off for birth mothers and a new leave-sharing system under which, employees are allowed to share 6 weeks of paid leave with a partner.
About 1,00,000 persons will find seasonal jobs in Amazon soon as the company announced to hire workforce to meet the shortage of staff in the upcoming holiday season.
The new employees will be given roles across the company's shipping warehouses and sorting centers in the U.S. Among these, about 25,000 will be later absorbed for permanent jobs.
