As per reports, Swift’s attorney wrote in a counterclaim on Wednesday that a former Denver radio host, David Mueller, had groped singer Taylor Swift backstage during a meet-and-greet at Swift’s concert in June 2013. Mueller, in September, sued Swift saying that the singer’s team member had wrongly accused him of groping during a photo session. He mentioned that two days after the incident, he was fired from his job at KYGO radio.
In the incident, which allegedly had taken place at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Mueller maintained his innocence. The Associate Press (AP) reported that as per Swift's counterclaim, Mueller has claimed that one of his seniors at the radio station had groped the 25-year-old singer. According to AP, Swift blamed only Mueller for the act.
Swift's attorneys reportedly wrote in the counterclaim, “Mueller's newfound claim that he is the 'wrong guy' and, therefore, his termination from KYGO was unjustified, is specious. Ms. Swift knows exactly who committed the assault -- it was Mueller”.
The singer asked for a jury trial. She said that the compensation she might get will go as a donation to organizations ‘working dedicatedly towards protection of women from similar acts of sexual assault and personal disregard’.
In the counter argument, Swift’s lawyers said that the singer was ‘shocked, sad, offended, and alarmed’ when she was groped by Mueller. While citing the court documents, the AP reported that as per the lawyers, Mueller did not just brush his hand against Swift while posing for a picture, but also lifted up her skirt.
