After filing complaints of choking hazards caused by red plastic pieces in some of the cans, the Campbell Soup Company is voluntarily recalling 355,000 cans of SpaghettiOs Original. The cans found affected have been marked with a date of February 22, 2017 on the base with UPC code of 51000 22432 printed under the bar code. Currently, the recall of the cans is limited to the United States.
As per the recent statement by the Company, they request people who have purchased the cans to return it back to the stores and can ask for an exchange or full refund. The Campbell Soup Company apologizes for the inconvenience. With the goal of consolidating from multiple creative agencies to one, the company has issued a request for information on four brands within its simple meals division: Prego, Pace, SpaghettiOs and Ready Meals.
Megan Haney, senior manager-communications for the company, said “We're looking for a new agency model where this partner will manage a remit of work, including creative, content, digital, and social”. Ms. Haney reported that the company plans to bring on the new creative agency by early 2016 with an aim of bringing better efficiencies, better thinking and more collaboration with us as a partner. The company announced to increase its digital spending to 40% of its media budget in 2016 which is currently 20%. Also, the company is cutting its TV spending to 50% of the total budget. According to the Ad Age Datacenter, the marketer spent $361.3 million a year on total U.S. advertising in 2013 and $319.7 million in 2014.
