The Hershey Bears scored an impressive 4-0 victory over the Albany Devils Friday night at Times Union Center, thanks to strong performances by the likes of Chris Brown and Goaltender Justin Peters.
While Brown scored two goals; Peters, who is on loan to Hershey for conditioning purposes, made a total of 24 saves during last night's game.
Chris Conner carried the puck at the back the Albany net and propelled a backhand pass into the left faceoff circle. Without wasting any time, Brown grabbed the feed and one-timed the puck over Devils goaltender Scott Clemmensen's arm at 7:44.
The Bears' lead in the game was opened up by Stan Galiev merely 2:03 minutes later. Skating in alone and springing between two Devils defensemen on a pass from Connor Carrick, Galiev snapped a shot high over Clemmensen's glove.
Leading with 2-0 score in the second, the Bears opened a bigger lead. Chandler Stephenson managed to block a shot and was joined by Byers on a 2-on-zero rush.
Peters' strong performance earned him the game's first star honor with the victory, while Clemmensen slipped to 2-4-1 with 22 saves on a total of 26 shots.
The Hershey Bears are now 15-3-0-1 in their last nineteen games against the Albany Devils.
