A fire in a Brooklyn home killed seven siblings from an Orthodox Jewish family while their mother and one more child was in critical condition in hospital. The fire possibly engulfed the house due to a malfunctioning hot plate.
Due to Sabbath, many Jewish families do not use electricity. The initial investigation report indicates that the hot plate was left on for the Sabbath.

The popular online marketplace for handmade goods, has indicated that the funds will be used for future expansions and general corporate purposes. Education authorities removed a Brooklyn gym teacher from the classroom after an Instagram photo showing a former student kissing him surfaced.
The photo posted on the social network shows John Ramirez of Origins High School in Sheepshead Bay with former student Tamara Stimphil, who graduated last year and played on a PSAL flag football team coached by Ramirez.
