Researchers from the Oregon State University have estimated that about eight trillion plastic ‘microbeads’ enter daily in the water bodies in the United States.

Kate Edgar, Sacks’ assistant, said that he died at his home in New York City on Sunday. He made an announcement in February that he was suffering with a rare eye cancer that had spread to his liver.
