Chile created the largest marine reserve in the Americas. The reserve, Nazca-Desventuradas Marine Park, is about 114,872-square-miles of ocean and surrounded by the islands of San Félix and San Ambrosioa.
According to Joshua S. Reichert with the Pew Research Center, the marine park aims to prohibit illegal fishing operations which will also protect fish species from extinction.

They plan to make sanctuary off the coast of New Zealand with an aim to provide shelter to the mammals, fish and turtles that live there with a much-needed boon.
