On Thursday, a sightseeing floatplane crashed into a granite rock face on an area of the southeastern Alaskan coastline, killing all nine people on board. According to Alaska State Troopers spokesperson Megan Peters, during the night, the bodies of the nine dead were at the crash site as rain and wind hit the place.
It has been reported that an over 17,000-acre fire burning south of Big Bear Lake has cost an estimated $6.9 million so far.
According to a joint news release from the U.S. Forest Service, San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, Cal Fire and Southern California Interagency Incident Management, the Lake Fire had spread to 17,405 acres and was 24% contained as of 8 pm Monday.
The body of former White House chef, who was missing for more than a week, has been found by authorities off a hiking trail in New Mexico.
The 61-year-old chef disappeared more than a week ago on a solo hike through New Mexico Mountain in the Taos area. He was last seen on June 13. The police didn't provide a cause of death or any other details about the discovery of his body.
Authorities said that a boat packed with migrants has collided with an American border vessel off California's coast in which the boat turned upside down leaving a woman dead. It is suspected that migrants were trying to enter into the US illegally and Mexico is calling investigation into the matter.
