A notice of intent has been filed by the Center for Biological Diversity to take legal action against the federal government over a delay in taking decision to protect the foothill yellow-legged frog. The conservationists had filed an appeal with the US Fish and Wildlife Service to cover this species of frog under the Endangered Species Act.
